Understanding what you pay and when

Platform Commission

PlankMarket charges a 2% seller commission and 3% buyer fee on each completed transaction, calculated on the inventory subtotal only. Shipping is quoted separately at checkout, and the freight quote already includes marketplace shipping margin. This covers listing hosting, buyer network access, payment protection, messaging tools, and platform support.

Payment Processing (Stripe)

Sellers are charged Stripe processing of approximately 2.9% + $0.30 on the inventory subtotal only. PlankMarket absorbs the processing cost tied to shipping and any remaining non-seller processor share.

Payout Timeline

Seller payouts release when the carrier picks up the shipment. Funds are typically available in your bank within 3-5 business days. Buyers have a 48-hour post-delivery window to report damage or shortages with photo evidence. If no dispute is filed within 5 business days of delivery, the transaction closes automatically.

What happens in case of a dispute or return?

Our secure payment hold protects both parties. Seller payouts release when the carrier picks up the shipment. Buyers have a 48-hour window after delivery to report damage, shortages, or quality issues with photo evidence. Freight damage must be noted on the delivery receipt at time of delivery. If no dispute is filed within 5 business days of delivery, the transaction closes automatically. Disputes are mediated by our support team. Commission and processing fees are refunded on full refunds; partial refunds get proportional adjustments.

Are there plans for premium features?

Yes. PlankMarket Pro is already available for power users who want unlimited listings or saved searches, AI agent workflows, CRM tools, bulk upload, and market intelligence. The core marketplace remains usable without a required subscription.

How does tax reporting work?

Sellers receive tax documentation from Stripe Connect for all transactions. You are responsible for reporting income and paying applicable taxes per local, state, and federal regulations.
